We've got Annie!

The ever-popular Broadway musical Annie will light up Queensland Performing Arts Centre's Lyric Theatre from April 7, 2012 in a new production by producer, John Frost.
Returning to the role of New York 'zillionaire' Daddy Warbucks is one of Australia's greatest theatrical talents, Anthony Warlow, fresh from his success in the title role of the World Premiere of Doctor Zhivago. Show business legend Nancye Hayes will play the tyrannical Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage where Annie begins her journey. This is the third Australian production of Annie
Joining Nancye as her scurrilous brother Rooster Hannigan is television and stage favourite Todd McKenney (The Boy From Oz, Dancing With the Stars). Playing Rooster's lady friend Lily St Regis and Warbucks' secretary Grace Farrell will be two leading ladies of musical theatre, Chloe Dallimore (The Producers) and Julie Goodwin (West Side Story) respectively. Making his musical theatre debut in the role of President (FDR) Roosevelt will be radio veteran Alan Jones.

Mary pops into the Lyric Theatre Brisbane

MARY POPPINS has earned 44 major theatre awards internationally, including Tony®, Olivier and Evening Standard awards and a record eight Helpmann awards from 12 nominations.. The Australian production of MARY POPPINS opened in Melbourne at Her Majesty's in July last year and played to 100 per cent capacity at each of its 299 performances. It is currently playing in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre and moves to the Lyric Theatre QPAC, Brisbane in December 2011.A co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, this stage production is based on P.L. Travers' cherished stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film and includes the film's Academy Award®-winning music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The stage production was created, in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh, by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, who wrote the book; Olivier Award-winning director Richard Eyre; and the Olivier Award-winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who composed new songs and additional music and lyrics.Richard Eyre leads the award-winning creative team, with co-direction and choreography by Tony® and Olivier Award winner Matthew Bourne.
